My Approach

My Approach 

I am an integrative therapist whereby I draw on different therapeutic theories. I understand everybody is unique with different expectations and needs, and I will tailor my skills and knowledge to fit your needs. I will listen without judgement, explore your world and offer therapeutic techniques, if necessary, so that you can take these into your everyday life. I work holistically and will let you guide me where we need to go, after all, you are the expert of yourself. 

The core of my approach to therapy is Client-Centred. I will place you (the client) at the heart of our sessions. I will provide a non-judgemental space conducive to uncensored self-exploration where you can explore difficult feelings, be heard and feel understood. This will give you a clearer perception of yourself reconnecting with your true values and self worth, leading to psychological growth and deeper understanding. I will work to explore your world from your perspective, honouring and respecting your individual journey. 

I am able to integrate CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) into sessions. The basis of CBT is looking at how your thoughts, emotions and behaviour are interlinked, helping you to understand them and how these factors can affect how you perceive the world around you. CBT looks to challenge and change any negative thought patterns or learnt behaviours that you may find difficult. 

Above all and fundamental to my practice and any effective therapy, is an interpersonal process, the therapeutic relationship between the client and the therapist. This has been proven by decades of research and has been described as a main curative component. So it is essential we both agree we are the right fit for each other.
